C.J. Gideon, Jr. and Natalie Gideon obtained a verdict for their corporate client in a two-week infant death trial in Santa Fe, New Mexico, among the most plaintiff-friendly jurisdictions in the country. The jury unanimously rejected the Plaintiffs’ contention that the corporate client was negligent, and was engaged in a joint venture to operate the local hospital. The jury rejected the Plaintiffs’ astronomical demand for punitive damages. Plaintiffs’ final demand pre- trial was over $70 million.
